The sources of A Program in Miracles can be followed back once again to the venture between two persons, Helen Schucman and William Thetford, both of whom were distinguished psychologists and researchers. The course’s inception occurred in the first 1960s when Schucman, who had been a clinical and research psychiatrist at Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons, began to have a series of internal dictations.
